Avon enrollment holds near last year’s level; nonresident counts rise to 86

District staff told the board the early-year enrollment picture is ‘fluctuation’ as families finalize decisions, and gave a same-date comparison with last year: "as of today, we're at 10,568," the presenter said, noting the district was at 10,646 at this point in August 2025.

Officials highlighted the rise in nonresident enrollments: 59 across last school year vs. 86 so far this year. Staff explained the process for unenrolling students requires receipt of records requests; until those arrive students remain on rosters. The district estimated roughly 70–80 students across K–12 are presently coded on rosters but not showing up at class, and said kindergarten applicants totaled 28 with 20 actual enrollments reported.

Trustees asked about timing, cutoffs and whether Avon Online counts toward nonresident totals; staff said adjustments happen daily and that the district will continue to monitor counts ahead of official count day.
