Interim police report: Alma recorded 348 law-enforcement activities over month

With Interim Chief Hawkins absent, Mayor (Speaker 1) read the police department’s activity summary for May 16 through June 16.

The report listed a total of 348 law-enforcement activities, 314 citations and warnings, one arrest warrant served, three arrests resulting from criminal investigations, 18 calls for service, four crash reports, three criminal trespass reports and 58 vehicles impounded (often for lack of insurance or license). The mayor concluded that the department remains focused on traffic enforcement, public safety, and preparing for demands linked to local growth.

The council did not take further action on the report; members briefly discussed growth-driven increases in demand for personnel, equipment and training.
