Board OKs extended MOU letting Black Hills State plan uses while district keeps scheduling priority

Superintendent Nathan Gottlieb briefed the board on a three-party agreement involving the district, the city and Black Hills State University regarding use of the Black Hills Energy complex. Gottlieb said the district will retain scheduling priority for the complex while Black Hills State seeks a longer, five-year rolling term to aid its scheduling and planning.

Gottlieb said the new MOU does not change user fees from the district’s perspective and that the agreement cleans up prior language, removing some maintenance items the district was not performing. The board moved to approve the MOU and carried the motion.
