Board approves $7,848 bid to remove gym lobby tile and polish concrete

The McCrory School District board voted to accept a $7,848 bid from Razor Polish to remove the tile in the gym lobby, polish the concrete floor and add a design for the entryway area.

During discussion the superintendent said the work would focus on the lobby area, noted sample photos and said the project is expected to be done before basketball season. "So basically that's gonna be they're gonna remove the tile in the gym lobby and polish the concrete floor," one administrator explained during the presentation.

Board members clarified the scope — bathrooms would not be included — and confirmed funding would come from bond proceeds. The board moved, seconded and approved the bid by voice vote.

The contract award and timing will be coordinated with coaches for any design elements the school wants included; administration said it will place the project out to bid if required by facilities guidance and proceed when approvals and schedules align.
