DDA accepts FY2025 audit; external auditor issues clean opinion

Brandon Lopez, a partner with CBIZ, presented the DDA’s independent auditor’s report for fiscal year 2025 and said the organization received an unmodified (clean) opinion. Lopez explained that recent GASB lease-accounting changes require recording right-of-use assets and associated lease liabilities, which "gross up" balance-sheet totals but do not change net position or operating results.

Lopez told the board there were no material audit adjustments and that management had already implemented some corrective actions on documentation items the auditors recommended. "We received an unmodified, a clean opinion," he said. The board accepted the audit into the record by consensus; staff noted they would follow up on the auditors’ remaining recommendations ahead of the next audit cycle.
