Committee schedules discussion on responsibility for drainage ditch maintenance on 112 Street

Joe Spears told the committee he observed that the city had mowed the right-of-way along 112 Street and said the large drainage ditch there has become overgrown with trees. He asked the committee to identify who is responsible for maintaining the ditch — whether management under contract or the Franklin Public Works Department.

The chair agreed to place the item on the next agenda for discussion and possible assignment. Spears said some initial clearing will require hand tools because the ground is too wet for equipment, and the committee will determine whether the contractor or city crews will perform the work.
