Chair opened a community update noting a "remarkably successful Lake County Fair" and said tens of thousands attended the fair, where the 4‑H auction broke records for the sixth year in a row.
"It was exciting to see tens of thousands of people come through the fairgrounds...By all accounts, we also had a record breaking 4 H auction," the Chair said. The chair also noted America250 recognition at the fair and a limited-edition bobblehead honoring Francis Jennings Casement tied to the new Casement residential development in Painesville Township.
Why it matters: The fair draws regional visitors, supports local 4‑H programs and generates economic and community engagement; recognizing local history and new development ties community events to economic development conversations.
Next steps: Chair said the county will publish further statistics from the fair board when available.
