Mayor Nero presents key to village and unveils mayoral photo wall; library to host 'Faces Behind Dementia' exhibit

Mayor Stephen T. Nero used his mayoral remarks to present a ceremonial key to Frank J. Rogers Jr., who the mayor said is celebrating his 90th birthday. Nero read a proclamation honoring Rogers' military service and family contributions: "I, Stephen t Nero, mayor of Westmont, wish to honor a for a long life full of love, prosperity, and his part in the creation of our family," and invited family for a group photograph and a photo-wall unveiling that features past mayors.

Mayor Nero also noted a village photography exhibit, "Faces Behind Dementia," featuring portraits taken by Village Manager Jim Gunther that are on display at the Westmont Public Library. The mayor asked residents to visit the library to view the exhibit. He also announced the passing of John DeMoure, a longtime Westmont resident and former Chicago Bears offensive lineman, and offered condolences.

The items were ceremonial and informational; no formal board action was required for the proclamations, photo-wall unveiling or exhibit notice.
