Youth Commission approves slate of community activities for the year

The Monte Sereno Youth Commission voted to approve a proposed slate of activities for the 2025–26 school year, including a food drive, a birdhouse-building event, the annual ice cream social, creek cleanup, a podcast project and a proposed movie night. Staff described prior success with a combined food-and-coat drive and proposed focusing on a food drive this year; exact collection numbers were not specified during the meeting.

Members discussed logistics and promotion, agreed to form activity subcommittees to develop details and asked staff to return with budgets, schedules and volunteer assignments. "This is just a discussion... I will bring more information together, and that can be an item a separate item at the next meeting where you guys can make those final decisions," staff said. The motion to approve the proposed activities passed after a second and a show-of-hands vote.
