Los Lunas to submit $10 million pay application for LL Boulevard; project remains on multiyear schedule

Public Works Director Michael Jaramillo told trustees he would be submitting "the largest pay application... one for 10 million" to Purchasing for the Los Lunas Boulevard (LL Blvd.) project, which staff described as the largest locally led project in state history for a community of Los Lunas’ size and as including the state’s longest bridge. Jaramillo reported the project’s 940‑day contract had used 143 days to date and that about $32 million has been paid so far; staff expect construction to complete in April 2029.

Councilors asked staff to keep the online project status updated so they can direct public inquiries to the website. Jaramillo said the contractor is slightly ahead of schedule and that certified local firms are performing work (concrete subcontractor certification singled out), but did not request new council action at the workshop.
