Council questions how resort tax estimates and carryover affect 2023 budget

Councilors reviewed resort tax forecasting and cautioned against assuming full receipts in the operating budget. Separately, S1 and others clarified that CDBG and previous homebuyer-program dollars are restricted to workforce housing uses and cannot be reallocated without following grant rules. The council also heard that building-code enforcement carryover rules changed to allow up to three years of carryover and that a recent audit found the department compliant.
