Taylor Community School Corp reports strong I-Ready growth, aims for full grade-level gains

The Taylor Community School Corp heard an end-of-year assessment briefing showing high year-over-year I-Ready growth in both reading and math, with presenters calling the results "huge" and urging continued focus on classroom instruction.

"Our goal... is 100% growth in both," Presenter (S3) said, describing 100% growth as the equivalent of an average student advancing one full grade level over a year. The presenter said the building recorded mid-90s percentages on annual typical growth this year and contrasted that with roughly 91% the prior year.

School leadership said the results came from sustained teacher data meetings and targeted interventions. The presentation noted that while overall growth was strong, the state counts and transient enrollment complicate final proficiency calculations — the district is still awaiting finalized state third-grade accountability figures.

The board discussed next steps for classroom support and said teachers would be recognized when official scores are confirmed. Presenters emphasized that detailed class- and student-level reports are available on internal dashboards and can be shared with board members on request.
