High-school assessment gains and Senate Bill 239 prompt earlier interventions

Staff member (S2) briefed the board on high-school assessment trends, reporting an increase in iLearn Biology proficiency from about 39% to 47% and modest movement in SAT reading and math metrics.

"With the enactment of senate bill 239, we're trying to figure out now what's our number," Staff member (S2) said, describing new obligations to notify families when students are at risk and the district's plans to deploy targeted interventions early in the year. S2 said math remains the district's largest growth opportunity and outlined plans for algebra support and earlier SAP/SAT prep after Labor Day.

Staff framed the improvements as the result of coordinated efforts across three buildings and said the district is aligning curricula and interventions to raise college-readiness metrics over time.
