Beachwood Merrick rezoning application adjourned to September for renotice

The board heard an application from Beachwood 8 29 Merrick LLC seeking rezoning of the northwest corner of Merrick Avenue and Corporate Drive in Westbury to a planned unit development that would allow a condominium/hotel use under a PUD master plan. Town counsel and the applicant's attorney recommended adjourning the application to September so that the clerk's office can renotice and the applicant can provide required mailings and posted signs.

Town counsel told the board the application will be renoticed for the September meeting and asked the clerk to place the item on that agenda; the board voted to adjourn the matter to the September 2026 meeting at 10:30 a.m. The adjournment allows additional public notice and the opportunity for circulating required materials before any substantive PUD review occurs.

The board provided no further substantive action on the rezoning request at this meeting other than scheduling and instructing the clerk and applicant to complete public‑notice requirements.
