Committee identifies priorities: Complete Streets guidance, walk audits and Vision Zero work

Chair Tad led a review of the committee's work plan and asked members for high-priority goals for the coming year. Committee priorities identified included finishing the Active Transportation Plan, producing Complete Streets implementation guidance, conducting a walk audit in the Century and Allen area tied to the small-area plan, and advancing Vision Zero priorities.

Kirsten stressed coordinating with the police department on unsafe crossings, e-bike and e-moped education, and making Monday social-media safety posts a continuing item. Staff and committee members agreed a focused set of achievable goals is preferable to overreaching, and members suggested publishing work plans and project pages to make information more accessible to the public.

The committee also discussed high-school outreach and maintaining accessibility and equity in communications. Staff said they will incorporate the committee's input into the annual plan and return with implementation steps, milestones and opportunities for public involvement.
