City staff reported potential near-term savings of roughly $35,000 by delaying replacement of some vehicles and reusing equipment rather than purchasing new upfits.

"All of those changes totaled about $35,000," the staff member said when describing options that included delaying a parts truck and certain dump-bed replacements and reusing upfitting equipment to reduce amortized costs on leased vehicles. Staff noted the city maintains a lease agreement with Enterprise and evaluates replacements based on engine hours, mileage and market conditions.

Council members expressed caution about operational impacts if vehicles are deferred but did not direct a formal pause; staff said it would refine the numbers based on council direction.
