Council prioritizes street-condition assessment and weighs capital projects amid tight budget

Staff presented a ranked list of capital projects and said the budget assumed a $750,000 grant for the park project and included transfers for the Rosebrook drainage effort. "Grant revenue ... is significantly higher than prior years because of the assumption of that $750,000 grant," staff said while explaining the general-fund line item list.

Council reviewed a street-condition assessment and several vendor quotes, noting a lower-cost contractor produced estimates that materially reduced projected cost for some repairs. Members agreed to move the street-condition assessment higher on the priority list and asked staff to show which projects would be funded at different tax-rate levels.
