Zoning board continues variance request for 60 Watrous Road to July 18

The Bolton Zoning Board of Appeals on July 11 continued an application from Bruce Amundsen and Lisa Whatmore seeking a 15-foot variance from the town's 25-foot side-yard setback at 60 Watrous Road. Chair Mark Altermatt opened the item for public comment and recorded that no members of the public spoke.

Because only four voting members would participate in the matter, the board agreed it would be in the applicants' best interest to hear the case when five voting members could be present. Mr. Altermatt asked that Joseph Hriczo be seated as the fourth voting member; Hriczo accepted. Jonathan Treat moved to continue the meeting to Tuesday, July 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Bolton Town Hall; Robert Peterson seconded and the motion "Motion unanimously passed." The continuation means the board will address the variance request at the July 18 meeting with an opportunity for full-board consideration.

No correspondence was reported regarding the application during the July 11 session. The board did not take further action on the variance on July 11 and made no substantive findings on the variance criteria; any evidentiary presentation or vote on the variance will occur at the continued hearing.
