Council approves two liquor-permit items to proceed without hearings

London City Council considered two liquor-permit communications and decided not to schedule public hearings for either business.

President Peters and the clerk summarized that one application is for Hyori Hibachi Sushi Ramen (classified D5L and appearing to be a transfer) and the other is for Valerie Farmhouse Bakery (D3). Councilman Greg Eads asked whether the police department had raised any concerns; President Peters said he had not received any input from police. The council voted by voice to proceed without hearings for both items.

After the approval, a councilmember clarified that the vote was to schedule no hearing (not to grant the final license), and the clerk confirmed both items had been "approved without a hearing." The council did not record a roll-call tally beyond unanimous "Aye" responses on the floor.
