Board approves minutes and consent agenda; recognizes donations and names interim Sousa principal

The Board approved the July 2026 reorganizational meeting minutes and the posted board meeting minutes by a roll-call tally recorded as 7–0. The consent agenda (items 12.1–18.1) also passed 7–0 and included personnel actions and contract approvals. Trustees welcomed Elizabeth Gerson, who will serve as interim principal of Sousa Elementary School while the district conducts a search for the permanent principal.

During the consent-item acknowledgements the board noted multiple community donations. The packet described four donations from the Ed Foundation totaling roughly $200,000 toward a STAR Lab at Weber Middle School and the board singled out a $140,000 Ed Foundation grant for upcoming-year grants; the administration thanked donors for enabling enrichment opportunities across the district.
