Residents propose pathway, sidewalks and speed‑management measures as CDBG candidates

Resident Julian Barclay proposed completing a paved path that connects upper and lower Huachuca City to provide a safe walking route to the library and Activity Center and to avoid a steep road that poses difficulty for pedestrians. Earlier comment from Steven Sherwood also urged a sidewalk from the school to the Activity Center to keep children off the roadway, and councilmembers recommended speed‑management measures such as speed tables, speed bumps and improved signage on neighborhood streets.

Mayor Wallace and staff said the suggestions would be recorded and added to the candidate project list for CDBG consideration or for smaller local action; SEAGO noted that clear project scopes, design work or engineering (which SSP grants can fund) enhance competitiveness for construction dollars.
