Council advances commercial-vehicle parking-hours change after clarifying AM/PM typo

Pleasantville City Council reviewed Ordinance No. 10 on Aug. 3, a proposed amendment to chapter 278 of the municipal code covering commercial-vehicle parking hours. During the first-reading discussion council members identified a typographical inconsistency in the draft that listed both '6AM' and '6PM' in different places, prompting clarification before final adoption.

"It's from 7AM to 6PM," one council member (Speaker 6) said while questioning the draft language; other members pointed out that some passages read '6AM' and others '6PM.' Council agreed the discrepancy was a typographical error needing correction and voted to approve the ordinance on first reading and move it to a second reading for final action.

Council did not finalize the exact corrected text for publication at this meeting; staff will prepare a corrected ordinance text and return it for a second-reading public hearing.
