Council approves four police appointments; new officers sworn in

Pleasantville City Council approved a set of resolutions (Nos. 146–149) on Aug. 3 authorizing the appointment of multiple police officers and administered oaths of office to those present.

The clerk read each resolution into the record and the council called the roll for each appointment. Appointees named in the meeting record include "Carmelo" (transcript contains inconsistent surname spellings), Thomas Riley Junior, and Quayshaun Tucker; Woshawn Tucker was noted as not present. The clerk administered the oath under the authority of the State of New Jersey and Atlantic County; officers recited the pledge to support the U.S. and state constitutions and to perform their duties impartially. One council member congratulated the new officers and expressed optimism that increased staffing would strengthen both routine and serious-response capabilities.
