Resident asks for stop sign at bike-path approach after near-collision; asks about tax bill timing

Resident Patricia King told the council she nearly collided with an e-bike rider at the Park Avenue approach to the bike path where Park Avenue meets Downey Road and asked Public Works to consider installing a stop sign on the Park Avenue side of the path. She said the e-bike rider was not wearing a helmet and that the roadway condition on Park Avenue made her drive slowly; she asked the city to evaluate the intersection for additional traffic controls.

"So if you could consider putting a stop sign here, that would be good, I think," Patricia King said while describing the near-collision and pointing to a lack of a stop sign on the Park Avenue approach. She also asked when she might expect to receive her tax bill because she wants to pay on time. Public Works staff acknowledged the request and said they would look into the location and follow up with the resident.

The council took no formal action that night; Public Works agreed to investigate and to follow up on both the traffic-safety concern and the tax-bill timing question.
