Flowood aldermen approve consent agendas including $6.5M refunding authorization and TASER purchase

At its Aug. 7 and Aug. 21 meetings the Flowood Board of Aldermen approved a multi-item consent agenda covering routine claims, construction and procurement matters, and financing authorizations.

On Aug. 7 the board approved a resolution authorizing the issuance of not-to-exceed $6,500,000 City of Flowood General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Series 2017, and directed preparation and execution of associated documents. The same meeting approved a 60-month purchase agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. totaling $43,212.40 for 35 TASER devices and a contract change order increasing the Layne Christensen Company contract by $48,790 for Liberty Road and Northeast water wells. On Aug. 21 the consent agenda included approval of a proposal from Benchmark Engineering & Surveying, LLC for up to $18,000 in surveying services for the Hwy 471 waterline project and an easement and construction agreement with the Mississippi Department of Transportation for frontage-road work along SR 25.

"This motion was seconded by Alderman Harmon and received unanimous approval from all Board Members present," the minutes record for the Aug. 7 consent motion. The minutes for Aug. 21 record similar unanimous approval for that meeting's consent items.
