Council allocates $2,000 to Trout Unlimited/USGS river study

Chad Chorney of Trout Unlimited presented a joint Trout Unlimited/USGS project to the council, describing the study’s objectives and answer council questions about scope and funding. Council members asked technical questions and sought clarifications on the study’s deliverables and coordination with local partners.

Council Member Michelle Griffith moved to allocate $2,000 from the current fiscal year’s Special Events Funding allocation to the Trout Unlimited/USGS study; Council Member Peter Hendricks seconded the motion. A roll-call vote recorded ayes from Michelle Griffith, Peter Hendricks, Jane Conard and Keith Saks, with no nays. The Mayor declared the motion approved.

The $2,000 is to come from the Special Events funding line in the current fiscal year; staff and the project lead were expected to coordinate next steps for contracting or reimbursement as appropriate.
