Council reviews FY2016 general government revenue outlook, questions franchise and permit lines

City Administrator Susan Robertson presented an overview of General Government Revenues for the proposed FY2016 budget at the June 16 special meeting. Robertson covered property tax revenue projections, expected franchise-fee receipts, business license and permit revenues, and noted fines, interest and miscellaneous receipts as smaller revenue sources. Council members asked for clarifications on assumptions underpinning the projections.

City Treasurer Angela Walls responded to multiple questions about specific revenue lines and the shared revenues portion of the budget. Council Member Jane Conard, Council Member Michelle Griffith and Council President Keith Saks each asked follow-up questions during the review. Robertson flagged outstanding items for the July 23, 2015 budget work session where staff will provide more detailed numbers and backup documentation.
