Belpre council bans parking on Blennerhassett Avenue near Howe Grove Park

Council member Mr. Locke said the council unanimously approved a temporary prohibition on parking on Blennerhassett Avenue between Elm and Walnut after reporting increased traffic near Howe Grove Park.

Council member Mr. Locke told colleagues there were "three vehicles down there causing a bottle neck," and the council agreed to prohibit parking on both sides of the street. Mayor Abdella and Safety-Service Director Mr. Rhodes recommended a 30-day adjustment period to give residents time to move vehicles; signage will be erected to notify drivers.

The action was taken by a voice vote with all members present voting aye. The council noted the change was an operational traffic-safety measure rather than a permanent, town-wide change to the parking ordinance; staff said they will post signs and enforce the restriction after the 30-day window.
