Public Health Committee approves travel for county public-health and environmental staff

The committee approved two travel authorizations. Dr. G. Collins, Commissioner, was authorized to attend the 2026 Public Health Leaders’ Summit in Clayton, NY, Oct. 14–16, 2026; travel by personal vehicle and lodging, registration and some meals will be paid by NYSACHO. Motion by Merrill carried with seven ayes and one absence (Prior).

Separately, R. Jines, Director of Environmental Health, was authorized to attend the New York State Conference of Environmental Health Directors at White Eagle Conference Center in Hamilton, NY, Sept. 21–23, 2026. Travel will be by county vehicle and estimated expenses (lodging, conference, meals, registration and dues) were listed at approximately $450; funds are budgeted. Motion by Smith carried with seven ayes and one absence (Prior).
