Special called meeting convenes; open forum has no speakers and trustees adjourn after reconvening

The Hale Center ISD School Board convened a special called meeting at 9:00 a.m. on March 21, 2026. President Pam Johnson called the meeting to order and gave the invocation. The board followed its agenda and opened an opportunity for public comment under Board policy BED(LOCAL); no speakers addressed agenda items during that open forum.

The meeting record notes the presence of board members Pam Johnson, Paul Chandler, Chance Crossland, Heath Huffhines, Troy McGann and Meranda Sierra; Jack Needham was absent. School personnel Kelly Baggett and Keith Bryant were present. After conducting business, including a vote to amend the District of Innovation Plan and a closed session for superintendent candidate interviews, the board reconvened at 12:53 p.m. and Paul Chandler moved to adjourn at 12:54 p.m.; Troy McGann seconded and the motion passed 6-0.
