Rep. Pramila Jayapal urges organizers to expand the map, pledges funding and reiterates Medicare for All goal

Rep. Pramila Jayapal told Washington Democrats in Spokane that the party’s organizing work will determine whether Democrats retake the U.S. House and emphasized targeted investing in competitive districts.

"We will take back the house this year," Jayapal said, urging activists to keep organizing and to support candidates in Trump-leaning districts. She cited campaign numbers for 2024 — "1,700,000 phone calls" and "250,000 door knocks" — as evidence that grassroots effort produced gains in Washington.

Jayapal also reiterated long-term policy priorities, including Medicare for All. She said her office had already put money into candidates nationwide and described health care and higher education funding as central planks of the party platform.
