DNC vice chair defends Ken Martin and highlights increased national investment in state parties

Asked about national investment under DNC chair Ken Martin, the vice chair said increasing state-party funding was one of Martin's first priorities and described what she called a meaningful change in capacity. "As, if you're a red state, you got an additional $5,000... I believe it's $22,500 a month that are going to red states... those of us who are in blue states got an additional, I think, dollars 2,500... and I believe it's 17,500 that we receive every month from the national party," she said, characterizing those figures as the program the DNC is running.

She also defended Martin's leadership in response to questions about critics, saying she had served with him and supported his vision to invest in state infrastructure and organizing. The vice chair said the funding has allowed some states to hire communications and organizing directors and to maintain year-round operations rather than scaling back in off-years.
