Chair (S1) said the county will present a resolution rescinding Sedgwick County's role on the Wichita City‑County Access Advisory Board as the City of Wichita plans to adopt a newly designed advisory board.
"In the history of the access advisory board, 98 percent of the cases are city of Wichita," Chair (S1) said, explaining that the county will rely on internal ADA compliance processes for complaints that arise at county facilities and that the city's new board will better suit the municipal caseload.
Chair described the change as an efficiency and jurisdictional clarification and said staff will keep the commission informed as the city considers its new advisory structure. The item was introduced as an agenda matter for formal consideration; no vote was recorded in this meeting segment.
