Commissioners preview procurement items including Axon cameras and forensic equipment

Chair (S1) outlined multiple procurement items scheduled under the bid board: a single‑source Veil Annex technology upgrade; an Axon body camera systems purchase for the Department of Corrections via joint government contract; and purchases for the Regional Forensic Science Center including a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer, Agilent instrument analysis and chemical supplies, and Sigma‑Aldrich lab supplies. Chair also identified two vehicle purchases: a 4‑wheel‑drive crew cab for Public Works and a cargo van for Animal Control.

"Item 2 is Axon Body Camera Systems for the Department of Corrections... Item 3 is for a new gas chromatograph mass spec... Item 5 is for Agilent instrument analysis and chemical supplies... and item 6 is for Sigma Aldrich Lab," Chair (S1) said, and invited Shelly (S3) — who was present online — to answer any technical questions. Commissioners raised no substantive objections during the preview and indicated the items will proceed for formal consideration in new business.
