Parks launches 'Partners in Parks' program to enlist businesses and volunteers

Parks staff presented a 'Partners in Parks' program aimed at increasing community investment in park upkeep and recreational programming. Staff said the program will reach out to businesses, civic groups and individuals for one‑on‑one brainstorming and to propose initiatives the parks department could bring back to the board for approval.

"My plan is once we can make contact, I'd love to sit down one on one with the businesses or individuals or civic groups and just brainstorm," the parks representative said. Early successes include a bingo event and sponsor interest that staff said they will leverage for future programming. Board members expressed support and staff will follow up with a structure for meetings and participation.
