At the public hearing, residents raised water quality and billing concerns. Frances Mock (105 Pima) said, "The water is bad, the past 7 years my dog doesn’t even drink the water," and called for pipe replacement. Town Manager Suzanne Harvey responded that the town conducts monthly testing and files consumer reports with the state, saying the Town's tests show the water meets required standards: "our water is absolutely good," she said, while acknowledging taste complaints and the need for system evaluation.
Councilmembers and residents discussed technical and funding paths: Cynthia Butterworth suggested switching to meters that read by hundreds of gallons and enable remote reads to improve billing accuracy and help customers manage usage. SEAGO's William Osborne suggested the town could use state special project funds for assessments and engineering and that a meter replacement or targeted main repairs could be included in a shovel‑ready application if designs and environmental reviews are completed.
