Huachuca City to record resident ideas, prepare resolution and pursue planning funds for CDBG readiness

Mayor Johann Wallace and SEAGO staff emphasized process: the regional account requires a single primary implementation project, but the public hearing exists to capture community ideas so the council can adopt a resolution listing candidate projects and preserve eligibility for Colonias or SSP competitions. "It is one project," Mayor Wallace said when clarifying the regional application structure; SEAGO recommended using SSP or other planning grants to complete designs and environmental reviews that increase an application's competitiveness.

Staff and SEAGO agreed to publish the compiled project list, keep all public suggestions in the official record, and pursue design/assessment funding where appropriate. Osborne said SEAGO will assist with application preparation and reimbursement oversight; Manager Harvey and the Mayor said minutes will be used to generate the initial candidate list for a future council action to adopt the required resolution.
