David Chapelle sworn in as Grand Prairie City Council member for District 3

David Chapelle was sworn in at the July Grand Prairie City Council meeting and will represent District 3 after winning a runoff election on June 3.

Chapelle fills the seat vacated by former council member Mike Delbosky, who died in March. City officials said Chapelle will serve a three-year term; the city’s elections page (gptx.org/elections) has additional information about the contest and the office.

Speaking after the swearing-in, Chapelle described his community work and why he sought the council seat. He said he mentors young boys in Grand Prairie and that serving gives him personal satisfaction: “I am blessed and honored to be in the room, where decisions are being made that impact them.”
