Grand Prairie’s Housing and Neighborhood Services will host its Annual Home Ownership Fair on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ruthie Jackson Center. The event is aimed at prospective buyers and current homeowners seeking guidance on credit, down payment assistance, foreclosure prevention and home repairs.
The fair will include booths and advice from homeownership industry organizations and experts, family-friendly activities, prize drawings and a free lunch for attendees. Housing staff urged residents to attend and emphasized the department’s role in advocating for and educating prospective homeowners.
On-site registration opens at 8 a.m. the day of the event, and organizers said residents can pre-register or find more information at gptx.org/homeownershipfair. Housing staff said their goal is to support residents through the home-buying process and provide connections to local resources.
