The chair reviewed MPO TIP projects under discussion for 2027–2030 and asked the committee for input on which projects the county should support. Notable items included the Wausau Evergreen/Decatur river project, Bridal Street Bridge traffic work, extension of County Trunk Highway O across the river into County Trunk Highway N, Grossman Bridge (Schofield), Military Road bridge work, Gardner Park Road in Kronenwetter, the Ryan Street interchange at US‑29 in Weston, and the Kowalski Road interchange concept.
Supervisor Robertson, drawing on past service on the highway committee, described the TIP as a "wish list" that communities submit and said that prioritization and formal studies (purpose-and-need, environmental review) are required before federal funding is likely. Committee members asked planning and conservation staff to participate in follow‑up discussions so the county can better prioritize projects that it may endorse in MPO submissions.
Staff said MPO funds are limited and project selection requires inclusion in metropolitan plans and modeling of traffic and purpose‑and‑need analyses; if the county wants to play a more active role, staff recommended bringing MPO and planning staff to a future meeting.
