Sun Valley Economic Development seeks $10,000 and forecasts 350 new jobs

Harry Griffith, Executive Director of Sun Valley Economic Development (SVED), told councilors the organization is in its sixth year and focuses on driving jobs, increasing sales and developing projects that return value to the community. Griffith said SVED is asking for $10,000 for FY2017, described a roughly 60/40 private-to-public funding mix, and highlighted tax-reimbursement incentive projects and exploratory conversations about a cyber-security center for Blaine County.

Rick LeFaivre, a Sun Valley resident and SVED board member, emphasized the organization's local role and partnerships, including the Ketchum Innovation Center. Griffith estimated that recent and prospective projects could bring about 350 new jobs to the community.
