Council report: economic development plan tabled; Connex franchise up for renegotiation

At the start of the meeting the commission heard a report from a City Council representative (S5) outlining recent council business. The council reviewed the city’s economic development plan but asked for more in-depth review and tabled the item to a later meeting.

The council also chose a vendor to improve the city website and discussed the upcoming renegotiation of Connex’s franchise agreement; staff noted the existing franchise has been in place about five years and will be ready for renegotiation. The council representative said the council will revisit a subdivision deferral agreement and asked for the planning commission’s recommendation before finalizing a decision.
