Staff schedules community meeting on proposed convenience store; comments to be taken before rezone

Planning staff told the commission they met with the convenience-store applicant and requested additional outdoor seating be added to the design, consistent with earlier SUP conditions. Staff emphasized a community meeting will be required and plans to invite the Planning & Zoning Commission to attend; a date is expected near the end of August.

Staff said the community meeting is an informal opportunity for neighbors to raise concerns and for the applicant to revise plans ahead of a formal rezone and a subsequent council hearing. The item was an informational staff report; commissioners were advised they may receive mailed notices and a separate notice will be circulated to commission members.
