School MacBook request removed; administration adds HVAC monitor and door replacements to FY27 list

Dan Hogan, the school business administrator, told the committee that a previously proposed $75,000 MacBook replacement request for teachers has been dropped from the FY27 capital list because the district identified other sources for the machines. "No," Hogan said when asked whether the MacBooks were still needed; he added the district "was able to pick up some of it."

Walsh said the administration is inserting two new school facility placeholders for August 19: roughly $25,000 for an HVAC refrigerant monitoring system to detect hazardous refrigerant leaks and $39,000 to replace four deteriorated exterior door sets at the elementary school. Hogan said the refrigerant monitor is intended to tie into the building fire alarm and to prevent hazardous conditions that could require evacuation; Walsh said she will include quotes and background on both items for the committee's next meeting.
