Commission debates agricultural categories and where to allow RV parks and mobile-home uses

Bluff commissioners spent a sizable portion of the Aug. 6 meeting on zoning-code redlines, focusing on how to treat agricultural categories labeled A1, A2 and A3. Members discussed combining some uses into a single category, whether campgrounds, mobile-home and RV parks belong in developable agricultural categories, and whether certain lands (BLM, SITLA, floodplain areas) should remain protected from development.

Commissioners noted geographic constraints—some A2 parcels are in flood-prone washes such as Cottonwood—and suggested that allowing full RV-park development in those areas could be inappropriate. One commissioner proposed creating a '2a' subcategory to capture recreational uses that differ from commercial RV-park development. The body agreed to continue revising wording and to revisit map changes in a future work session.
