Council introduces Kennel Road property purchase and hears clerk report on Hometown Hero banners

On Aug. 6 the council conducted a first reading of an ordinance authorizing purchase of real property and improvements located at 5721 Kennel Road, City of Trenton (first reading). The ordinance was introduced; no final vote on purchase was recorded that night.

Clerk Stanislav Beresford reported strong interest in the Hometown Hero Banner program and said applications will open Sept. 1 and close Sept. 25; he noted poles at Trenton Square need finalization before banners can be installed there and said staff will provide a follow-up number at the next meeting.

Council also unanimously adopted a classification-scale amendment and authorized the City Manager to sign a petition organizing the Trenton Square Community Authority under Ohio Rev. Code §349.01(M). These items were adopted on second reading earlier in the meeting.
