Board funds adaptive planter program and issues Arbor Day proclamation

The board approved Resolution 20260319R8 to fund an adaptive planter program with a $3,500 budget that excludes dirt costs. Trustees noted a prior planting error led to a $3,500 credit for incorrect dirt and that local school ag programs and volunteers will help plant and maintain planters in Lions Park and Purdy Park.

"The ag program at the grade school is going to do seven of the planters," one trustee said, noting volunteer involvement will reduce maintenance burden. Trustees approved the budget and confirmed three downtown planters remain available and four planters at Purdy Park.

The board also adopted an Arbor Day proclamation and discussed sponsoring and planting a tree at Purdy Park, coordinating the event with the library and local school groups. No specific tree purchase was finalized; trustees agreed to revisit tree selection and any purchases at the April meeting.
