District and consultants outline next steps: surveys, potholing, engineer's report and outreach

Wallace Group and district staff told attendees the 30% design is an intermediate step and more field work is required to refine costs and design details. The team plans survey work to locate septic tanks, potholing to verify utility locations and geotechnical investigations to reduce construction unknowns before preparing the engineer's report that will feed the assessment and rate study.

Staff said they will pursue additional grants and county assistance while preparing the assessment engineer's package and are targeting early 2027 for a property-owner vote once parcel-specific costs are known. Staff also encouraged public outreach and education to increase homeowner understanding and acceptance of whichever option the board forwards.
