Board approves one-year auditor contract to preserve continuity while staff seeks alternatives

The board considered a two-year audit agreement with the incumbent auditor but, after discussion about timing and the value of continuity, amended the term to one year so that work can begin promptly while the board solicits competitive quotes for future periods. Staff noted the incumbent firm had been responsive during the last audit and had helped resolve outstanding items.

Clerk Jen Morrison said the incumbent auditing firm had been "responsive and supportive" in the prior audit and recommended at least a one-year extension to allow completion of outstanding items; the board voted to amend the request to a one-year contract and then approved that one-year agreement by roll call.
