Glendale Heights trustees praise staff and volunteers for storm response; village lists upcoming events and job openings

Multiple trustees and the mayor used board reports to thank staff and volunteers for response and recovery work after a recent storm. Mayor Giannelli said she appreciated neighbors and staff who supported residents; trustees singled out public works, parks, police and other departments for ‘going above and beyond’ during outages and cleanup.

Staff described several upcoming public events: the Monarch Butterfly Festival and Unity Day (Aug. 8) in Cameron Park, the Glendale Heights Charity Golf Classic (Aug. 26) at Glendale Lakes Golf Club, and a Historic House open house at Heritage Park (Aug. 22) with an ice-cream social. Human resources announced current hiring opportunities for positions including mechanic, school crossing guards, youth program counselor/coordinator, and seasonal recreation staff; interested applicants were directed to the village website for more information.

Trustees also praised ComEd for service restoration in parts of town and staff noted continued operation of critical facilities on generator power during outages.
